At age 14 I found a summer job at a Montessori camp working with preschool aged children. This was my introduction to Montessori methods and I realized I had never seen children treated in such a truly respectful way. It made a big enough impression that I have spent my entire career in education, in a variety of settings working with a wide span of ages. Just recently I have come full circle back to the Montessori setting as I feel this is the environment which best supports the tremendous growth from infant to toddler to child.
Ian, my husband, and I moved to Portland, OR from Baltimore, MD in 2001 and put down roots in St. Johns in 2005. We love being part of this smaller, active community inside of Portland and all the gorgeous outdoor goodness surrounding Portland. It is a very happy place to live with our daughter, dog and cat.
